2024 Greater Washington Suzuki Institute - Teacher Training

  • Every Child Can! (ECC) is an introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers, and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning.

    Every Child Can! is an 8 hour course. This course must be offered over two (2) days. GWSI will offer this course virtually through zoom on July 5-6, 2024 from 4-8 pm.
  • Course must be offered over a minimum of 8 days. Minimum of 28 hours of class time (lecture and
    demonstration), to include a suggested 2 hours of guided observation and discussion of
    the Trainer’s own home studio students, either live, by video, or a combination.

    There are two participation options for this course.
    Option 1: Online July 7-14. 2024. Weekday times will be scheduled between 8:15 am and 4:00 pm EST, so teacher participants may observe live lessons at GWSI.

    Option 2: Online from July 7-14. 2024. Weekday times will be scheduled between 8:15 am and 4:00 pm EST.
  • A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of supervised observation required over at least 5 days. This course will be offered in person or online via Zoom between 10AM and 2PM EST at the GWSI event July 8-12, 2024
  • A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of
    supervised observation required over at least 5 days. Teacher participants have the option to participate in-person or online for this course.

    This course will be offered between 10AM-2PM EST in-person or online at GWSI July 8-12, 2024
  • A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of supervised observation required over at least 5 days.

    This course will be offered online via Zoom between 11AM and 2PMEST at the GWSI event July 8-12, 2024.
  • A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of supervised observation required over at least 5 days. This course will be offered online via Zoom between 11AM-2PM EST at the GWSI event July 8-12, 2024.
  • A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of supervised observation required over at least 5 days.

    This course will be offered virtually on Zoom between 11am and 2pm EST July 8-12, 2023.
  • This is a 10 hour SAA approved supplemental course that will meet from July 8-12, 2024. Teacher participants have the option to participate in-person or online for this course.
  • This is a 10 hour online SAA approved course on Zoom from July 8-12.
  • This is a 10 hour SAA approved in person and online course offered July 8-12, 2024. This course will focus on Group Teaching Strategies.
  • This is a 10 hour online course offered June 9, 16, 23, and 30th 2024. This Course will focus on exploring creativity.
  • Teachers who would like to observe student classes may register as an observer. Observers may attend parent lectures, recitals, student master classes & repertoire classes. Observers may not attend any Unit book classes or Enrichment classes.
  • Select this Registration Type if you are requesting a need based scholarship for the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute. A deposit is required and the balance of the registration fees will be calculated after the Scholarship has been awarded.
