SAGWA and The Landon School are sponsoring a one day Suzuki Cello Workshop just for cellists at the Landon School in Bethesda/Chevy Chase, MD. The workshop is for players from pre-twinkle to advanced levels. Avi Friedlander will be the guest cello clinician. Each student will participate in one master class lesson (four students for one hour with individual attention), a group class - taught by local Suzuki Cello teachers, and the final concert at the end of the day.
For teachers who are members of SAGWA there will be a meeting on Friday night from 6:30 - 7 followed by dinner (at your own cost) just for teachers and the clinician, location.
Avi is the founder and director of STEP Birmingham and maintains active cello studios in Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA. He received music degrees from the University of Michigan and from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He was one of the cello teachers at the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute last summer.
