Pianists Present a Chamber Concert Recital
- PIANISTS TO PRESENT CHAMBER CONCERT RECITAL

Piano students of Michiko Yurko and Naomi Kusano will present a chamber concert recital on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 2:30 PM. This is a lovely, annual event when students, ages 4 – adult, perform with a professional string trio (Julianna Chitwood and Elizabeth Cunha, violins, Annelisa Guries, viola, and Marie D'Andrea, cello). The literature is standard piano repertoire with accompaniments that have been commissioned over the years.
Parents from both teacher's studios are involved with the preparation arrangements and will provide a lovely reception. Michiko and Naomi would be most honored for members and their students and families to attend.
The recital will take place at The Inter-Faith Chapel 3680, So. Leisure World Blvd., Silver Spring, MD 20906

40th Annual SAGWA String Festival
- The 40th Annual SAGWA String Festival will be held at the Bullis School in Potomac, MD and the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD on April 24th and 25th, 2010.
We anticipate more than five hundred violin and cello students ages 4 to 17 to participate in the Festival weekend.
More Festival details will be available throughout the year and online registration will be available early in 2010.

GWSI String Institute
- The Greater Washington Suzuki Institute has new dates and a new location for 2010. June 26 "Every Child Can" foundation course for interested parents and a prerequisite for teachers of all instruments June 27 (early AM ) - July 4 Violin Teacher Training Book 1 June 28-July 2 for all string students and Teacher Training Violin Books 2, 4 and Enrichment Course New Location - George Mason High School 7124 Leesburg Pike ( corner of Rt. 7 and Haycock Rd) Falls Church, VA 22043 George Mason HS affords the institute multiple spacious and attractive classrooms, concert hall, grassy lawns and lots of parking. This facility is next to the West Falls Church Metro subway on orange line and also on a main bus ( #28) line. It is close to the I-495 Beltway and instant access to Rt 66. The institute will offer students: master class lessons, repertory classes, Play-Ins, quartet, chamber music, 4 performing orchestras and one early reader's orchestra, Royal Scottish Fiddling, 10 recitals and concerts offered by participating students with one faculty concert. Greater Washington Suzuki Piano Institute
- 2010 GWSPI student dates are set (June 28-July 1). Book 3 teacher
training will be June 27-July 1. An overview course for teachers of Books 5-7 may be offered, with special focus on the pieces added to the repertoire in the New International Versions. If this happens, the dates will be June 28-July 2. For more information contact
